Successful AGM endorses the way forward

Napo's 2008 Annual General Meeting in Llandudno came to a close yesterday with all agreeing that it was a hugely successful event that had set a number of important future objectives for the union.
Napo's National Chair Tim Wilson, whilst expressing some shared disappointment that not all of the tabled motions had been debated due to the quoracy requirements, nevertheless thanked all who had contributed to the programme of events and debates. Tim also asked conference to show their appreciation for the tremendous efforts of the Chivalry Road Administration Team for making the AGM possible.

AGM Opens in Llandudno
Napo members certainly chose excellent weather as they made their way to North Wales for this years Napo Annual General Meeting which opened at the Venue Cymru in Llandudno.
During an excellent days debating which also featured a lively Annual General Meeting for Napo's family court workers section CAFCASS, and appearances by an array of entertaining and interesting speakers, the Justice Minister David Hanson was given a rough ride by members.
Despite a polished and well briefed performance which included a pledge to work constructively with Napo, hasten the move of Probation Boards to trust status, and root out waste and beaurucracy within the NOM's system, the Minister was told in no uncertain terms by General Secretary Jonathan Ledger 'that his figures failed to add up.'
