Sounds like you need a holiday! Take solace in the knowledge that you are protecting the public from behind your computer and the certainty that you are not alone in your feelings. Try it after 21 years - I joined before we had computers and there was only one fax machine in our whole county! Oasys was a distant thing in the desert with camels and breach meant something serious and often ended in custody - not an extra 10 minutes unpaid work. You've got me all nostalgic now! Anyway, chin up, esteemed colleague and remember that you can only do what you can do and as long as you do that properly, the bean counters who control every aspect of our lives these days can have no complaints. Or you could say "sod this, I'm off!" |

I have been a PO almost two years now. I am starting to feel totally fed up of it sometimes now... I feel like a glorified administrator. I work mostly with high risk cases - and whilst at first I thought this was interesting I am now realising that with these cases I am mostly just a managerial function. I sit at my desk most of my days, feeling lethargic and struggling to motivate myself to type some more stuff. I am alone in this? does anyone have any pearls of wisdom to impart upon me? |
