That advice would be ok if the presentation had not changed this year. It is now about the impact your actions had on someone and the impact on you rather than just solving a problem. It is still about how you went about things rather than the actual content. |

Hey Keep the presentation simple. I did mine (back in 2003 though) on the fact that i had put on weight and i gathered information on the different slimming clubs and chose the one which suited my life best. Find a problem, look for a solution and make a conclusion. There is a website with a CD you can buy: http://www.how2become.co.uk/probation_officer.htm?keyword=|googleprobationofficer|traineeprobationofficers |

Having attended stage 1 assessment centre, I was wondering if anyone has heard if they've been successful to get into stage 2 - if so any tips? |

The format of the assessment centre interviews is changing this year and until I attend the briefing session later on I don't know what the questions will be (and I am part of the assessment centre panel). Part of what has been included is how you solve problems, can you think things through etc and, as you would expect, there is stuff about values and you will need to demonstrate that you do not have rigid views (eg can see both sides of an argument). |
