Following on from the announcement by Chris Grayling, we appreciate that the gravity of the threat to the Probation Service has caused uncertainty amongst the staff base.  Whilst Napo, along with other trade unions and organisations, develop their campaign of opposition to the proposals, staff may be pondering their future within the Probation Service and potentially looking for new employment opportunities for the first time in many years.

Most employers now look for evidence of current competency on CVs - in particular in the fields of literacy, numeracy and frequently Information Communications Technology (ICT) (NB - these three areas are now referred to as Functional Skills).  Courses in the first two are FREE, although there is a small examination fee.  Today may be the time to upgrade your skills and CV for the current job market - both within the Probation Service and other fields.  Most of the learning opportunities on this website are available to all staff, although some are only available to Trade Union members.
