Women in Napo

WiN (Women in Napo) is formed of a small group of Napo officers and officials who:

  • Co-ordinate the Napo delegation to the Trades Union Congress (TUC) Women’s Conference (Napo is allowed two delegates each year) - which takes place early March annually, a 3 day in-person Conference, in London
  • Organise in-person WiN fringe meetings at Napo AGM
  • Organise online WiN meetings throughout the year as well as a biennual 1-day Seminar (currently online but we hope to return to an-inperson event in the future)

The aim of WiN is to increase the level of participation of women in Napo so that it is reflective of women’s membership density in our union – almost three quarters of the membership. We aim to get more women involved in Napo leadership roles, whether this is in the workplace, in local branches or the national union.

We also aim to raise the profile of women’s issues generally, whether this be in the workplace or wider society - particularly in relation to how societal issues impact our female clients.

Women in Napo meetings

There are ad-hoc online meetings throughout the year and a fringe meeting at Napo's National AGM/Conference. Keep an eye out via the members' mail-outs for dates and topics that may be discussed.

If you have any ideas on discussion areas for future meetings of Women in Napo/or ideas as to good speakers, again please contact Annoesjka at avalent@napo.org.uk
