Office Moves and closures - Napo advice on what to do

This has for some time been a feature of most people's working lives in Family Courts. It is now increasingly likely to be a feature of working lives for our Probation members also.  Find comprehensive Napo advice on what to do about new ways of working; office moves & closures; advice for managers; working from community hubs, and home working here.

NPS members please click here to see NOMS (NPS) advice to managers on necessary checks when there are office moves and closures.  It might be worth you making sure that these checks have been made in such circumstances.

An interesting paper from the Probation Institute, "Principles for Office Arrangements" can be found here

A valuable set of insights and advice from the Family Court experience can also be found here

The main pieces of H&S legislation which can be quoted & used in encouraging managers/employers to take note of staff needs are:

Safety representatives and safety committees (SRSC)

Display screen equipment work

Workplace health, safety and welfare regulations

Health and Safety at Work Act

Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) order

1999 Management of Health and Safety at work (MHSW) Regulations,
