Lives are being put at risk because of failings in the probation service, BBC reports.

Speaking to Working Links whistleblowers, the BBC have learned job-cuts and operational changes have resulted in some clients not being seen for months.

Former Napo Member, Helen Coley told the BBC: “The probation service, what’s left of it, is just waiting for somebody to murdered, raped or very seriously wounded. It could happen any day and could happen anywhere.”

Ian Lawrence, Napo General Secretary, also contributed to the BBC investigation and said if nothing is done soon  “there’ll be more chaos, there’ll be more confusion and there’ll be more reoffending”.

Working Links who won the CRC contracts in Wales and the South West in 2014 were reported as saying: “We are committed to reducing reoffending and protecting the communities in which we work.”
