We are excited to share that GFTU Educational Trust, in partnership with SOAS, has just launched a survey for workers today. It is the first of its kind in decades to understand workers’ experiences with trade unions, union education and interest in political economy.
This survey is conducted as part of a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) between the GFTU Educational Trust and SOAS’ Economics Department, supported by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI).
Your response will inform
- Achievements in trade union education – what do you want to see more of?
- Gaps and barriers in trade union education – how can we improve and make it more accessible?
- Future education programmes that are relevant, accessible, and rooted in workers’ real experiences
The survey is open to all workers in Britain and Ireland, regardless of nationality, employment status, and trade union membership status.
All responses are strictly confidential. We won’t be able to see whether you’ve taken part in the survey, nor your responses.
The survey takes approximately 3-7 minutes to complete.
Please feel free to share the survey with colleagues, friends, and networks — unionised or not. The link is here: https://gftuet.org.uk/workersvoices2026.
