Programme Facilitator Appeal

We have today issued a joint trade union dispute notification in relation to the JES Programme Facilitator Appeal. Unfortunately we cannot set out the full details of the grounds of the dispute beyond saying that we have issues over procedure and the need for an agreed approach on what is a jointly owned scheme. More updates will be issued by the unions when news becomes available.

We do understand that this process is challenging, but it is critical that it is administered correctly.

Epop Manager and Officer

Following a constructive meeting with the employers, the consultation period has been extended to set up some further workshops with role holders to add more information into the Job Description and Job Description Questionnaire before it goes to the evaluation panel.

Business Manager

Napo and Unison will be delivery a joint submission tomorrow to the annex a consultation in respect of the Business Manager job description before it goes to a job evaluation panel.

It is important to note that these roles are currently in the official process to be reviewed following unification, and/or are new roles. Napo have recently been approached by many different role holders for support for job evaluation for roles not subject to this review process. Whilst we are more than happy to support our members with this, we cannot submit a request for an evaluation on your behalf. The process is really clear, in that if individuals feel their role currently is very different to your job description, then you can request an evaluation on that basis, and will be asked to provide the evidence.

If you would like more information on the process, the manual can be accessed via equip, or please come back to Carole Doherty with any questions (cdoherty@napo.org.uk).

Attendance Management Policy Update

Some of you may be aware that a new policy was introduced for Attendance Management very recently (end of April). Please be aware that following our intervention this policy has been temporarily withdrawn and the old policy remains in place whilst further meetings with the employer are being held in relation to this. We will update further on this once we have finalised the position with the employers.
