Here is your latest probation update

UPW

Could we ask our members to keep sending in any incidents that are happening whilst out with groups of people on probation please. These are really useful when we are in discussion in relation to how many people should be out with the groups each day. We are supporting that there should always be a minimum of two members of staff at all times, but we need evidence to put together a business case. The new manual is due for release, and Napo are in discussion with various issues.

Programme Facilitator JES

The closing date for the submission of the appeal for the programme facilitators is on the 31st Jan. Many many thanks to all who have contributed and offered your support, it is greatly appreciated.

DASOs

The review and publication of the new handbook has gone quiet recently. However, we have followed this up and have got a meeting booked in with the national lead on the 25th Jan to discuss this and the subsequent much needed Jes. We have expressed the urgency of this matter, as we are aware people may be on pay protection, due to expire in June this year. Once we have more information, we will be updating you.

DSOUs

We are still raising concerns in relation to the plan to remove the DSOUs, and have today sent a briefing to the Justice Select Committee

For all the above, if you have any queries, please do get in touch cdoherty@napo.org.uk and tbassett@napo.org.uk
