Members will be aware that we were recently informed of the outcome of the job evaluation (JES) for VLO staff. Disappointingly the outcome was for VLO’s to remain at Band 3 despite significant changes to the role in recent years. Earlier this week Napo held a briefing for VLO members as a follow up to last weeks staff briefing held by Jim Barton. It was clear from both meetings that members feel angry and upset about the outcome and that the documentation that was sent to the JES panel didn’t fully reflect their roles. Some areas of work such as emotional demands were down played int eh final documentation while other areas such as mental health had not been included at all. Napo, along with our sister unions Unison and GMB, have agreed to submit a collective appeal to the JES outcome on behalf of VLO members. The deadline for the appeal to be submitted is 4th October which will give us time to collate information being sent in by VLO’s. We will hold a further meeting with members (details to follow) to ensure they are kept up to date on the union work.
