The catastrophic performance of Capita since it has taken over the contract for administering civil service pensions is just the latest in a long line of examples of such failures by private sector contractors.
Labour has rightly promised to deliver the "biggest wave of insourcing for a generation". Yet, only this month, another lucrative contract has been issued to Capita, this time for running payroll services across four major government departments.
Enough - it's time for action on insourcing.
