Napo members will soon be receiving your electronic voting pack on the revised 6% pay offer that has been presented to the Probation unions for consultation with our members.

CIVICA (CES) will be contacting you directly with a communication to your preferred E-mail address on Friday 27th March. More details will be issued on Friday as to the steps you should take if this is not received.

Why your vote is important

It was the collective strength of members in the previous ballot that was instrumental in forcing an improved 6% pay offer from the employer to the 4% that had previously been on the table.

It is totally understandable that members will have strong views on whether the improved pay offer,  which is the best that can be achieved by way of negotiation is acceptable, or whether you feel it should be rejected, and that Napo members then be asked to vote in a statutory postal ballot for a sustained campaign of industrial action.

Your Probation Negotiating Committee recognises that this is an important choice for member’s, and felt that it is important that you have the opportunity to decide on the way ahead as soon as possible.

So, we need to know where our members stand on such a big issue, and that’s why it’s vital that all members exercise their vote in the upcoming ballot.

It’s also recognised that this may be an emotive issue for some members and, as was the case in the previous electronic ballot and our meetings with members, we hope that everyone  will respect the fact that there will be honestly held differences in opinion about the way forward, and that each member is entitled to hold a view and express an opinion either for, or against , the offer if they so wish.
