Napo’s Email Indicative Ballot opens tomorrow.

In our previous mail outs, we have set out the reasons why we are asking you to vote to reject the 2025-2026 Probation Pay Offer.

If you missed these they can be accessed at our dedicated page for the pay campaign – do keep returning here regularly as further information will be uploaded – https://www.napo.org.uk/respect-probation-pay-probation

Now for some more details around the electronic indicative ballot coming your way

Tomorrow you will receive a communication from Civica Election Services (CES) to your preferred e-mail address that appears on Napo’s membership database. Civica will be acting as independent scrutineers for this indicative ballot which opens from Wednesday 4th February and closes at Noon on Friday 27th February 2026.

Please ensure that you take part in this critically important consultation by the closing date, this process is secure and your individual decision is personal to you.

Make sure your details are up to date

It is vitally important you ensure you have registered your preferred e-mail address (either a personal or work email address) on the Napo database and checked that we have your correct home postal address. Click here to find out how you can easily do this yourself or contact membership@napo.org.uk with your current details.

How to vote

From tomorrow afternoon please check the inbox for your preferred e-mail address for a communication from takepart@cesvotes.com and follow the simple instructions.

The communication from Civica will contain a unique voting link which will pre-populate your security codes allowing you to log in. Once logged in, simply enter your response to the question and click ‘Next Page’ to review and submit your response.

If you do not see a communication from Civica in the inbox for your preferred e-mail address by this Thursday (5th February) morning, please check your spam/junk folders. If you do not receive a ballot invitation you should in the first instance contact the Civica helpline at Support-CESvotes@civica.com or contact Napo at membership@napo.org.uk

Join Members’ Meetings

Over the course of the ballot period, there will be a series of online meetings for all members or those organised by your particular Napo Branch to discuss the pay offer. During these meetings members who may have questions about the pay offer they wish to ask before casting their vote will have the opportunity to do so.

Talk to your colleagues and encourage them to join Napo to also get a vote

Please talk with colleagues about the indicative ballot your union is asking you to vote in and, if any are not yet a member of any of the recognised trade unions, encourage them to join Napo. They will then also get a say. The latest date and time for someone to join, and still be able to vote in this ballot, will be 10am on Thursday 26th February 2026.  It is expected that people who join immediately prior to that deadline should receive their email to vote later that afternoon.
