Napo has been contacted by members affected by a historic data incident which occurred during February and March 2020 concerning the legacy Justice Academy Platform. The incident affected staff across the MOJ.

The types of personal data involved in the breach varies but in most cases it involved full name, work email address and activities completed on the platform. In 40% of cases national insurance numbers were also involved.

At the start of 2024, the MoJ received an influx of queries from staff wanting to know if their data had been involved in the data breach. As a result of this, a dedicated email address has been set up at SSCL for staff to contact about this and the team will then investigate and confirm if it was.

If any Napo members want to know if their personal data was involved in this breach they should contact: MOJ_Data_Enquiries@gov.sscl.com and provide them with their full name, staff/ employee number, area of MoJ they work (e.g. MoJ HQ, HMPPS, LAA) and work email addresses they have had, including previous ones.
